The Keystone State is key, youth voter turnout, postcarding opportunities, and more!
- PENNSYLVANIA IS THE KEYSTONE Polls show a dead heat for Pennsylvania and its 19 electoral votes, and grassroots Democrats in the Keystone State are going to find every voter they can for Kamala Harris. We can join them to call into critical Dauphin County tomorrow, August 10th, at 4:00pm. Let’s sign up to do our part here.
- HELP GET OUT THE YOUTH VOTE NextGen America is the nation’s largest youth voting organization, using innovative digital and field strategies to turn out young voters in key states. Young voters appear to be excited about a Harris presidential run. NextGen works to empower young voters through education, registration and mobilization. This election season they are focusing on eight specific states, but anyone anywhere is invited to join them as they call, text, and engage young voters on our national organizing team. - WRITING POSTCARDS TO SWING STATES As a project of Turnout PAC, Postcards To Swing States is up and running for the election season ahead. As of Monday, they are back with their swing states get out the vote opportunities. They ship colorful state-specific postcards, and we do the writing, addressing, and provide stamps. This is a great one to get community members involved in because they do not get mailed until closer to the election so there’s time to organize, and one of numerous postcarding and letter-writing opportunities for those who do not feel comfortable being on the phone or going door-to-door. We can find an entire list of this and other postcarding opportunities here. Let’s pick one or several and start writing.
- DEFENDING BLUE SEATS IN THE HOUSE The Harris Administration will need congressional majorities to move its agenda forward, and the House is very much up for grabs. Republicans are targeting Democratic incumbents like Rep. Pat Ryan, who is once again running hard on restoring reproductive rights. New York Democrats are organizing phonebanks for Ryan and candidates downballot Sundays and Wednesdays. We can sign up to help out here.
- MORE HARRIS ONLINE AFFINITY FUNDRAISING RALLIES We’ve seen several very successful virtual fundraising efforts by targeted demographics for Harris and these online rallies continue. On Monday, August 12 at 8 PM ET we can join in Love, For the Win: Christians For Kamala. Then on Tuesday, August. 13 at 8 PM ET, “A group dubbed “Deadheads for Kamala” will mark the late Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia’s birthday with a fundraiser for Vice President Harris” We can sign up here for Christians for Kamala and join in with our fellow Deadheads here.
