The Family Research Council, an anti-LGBTQ+ Christian nationalist group that targets LGBTQ+ rights, assisted right-wing parents in Bucks County to implement book bans that got This Book is Gay pulled from their district because it featured LGBTQ+ content.

Republicans in districts around the country followed suit using an age-old trope alleging that teachers could use books to “groom” or “indoctrinate” kids.

Dictators ban books, not democracies. Book bans restrict access to diverse perspectives and threaten to stifle the critical thinking and growth of students.

Turn PA Blue fought back and helped to flip multiple Bucks County school boards to Democratic majorities. They reversed book bans and adopted inclusive school policies!
