Saturday  – 06/15/2024 – OXNARD – 33rd Annual Juneteenth Oxnard Freedom Day Celebration (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) Plaza Park, Downtown Oxnard

The 33rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration is the orignal Ventura County Juneteenth Celebration!

This event celebrates the 1865 historical Proclamation of Freedom from slavery in Texas. Vintage attire is welcomed and to celebrate this historic occasion, we are always excited to have The Buffalo Soldier Mounted Cavalry Unit in attendance and showcasing the American Soldiers of that era.

A FREE fun filled day for the entire family of all ages. The Juneteenth annual event will feature fantastic food, amazing merchandise and vocal, instrumental and dance performances by many of Ventura County’s top artists like the Ventura College Jazz Band, Sunday Morning Praise Band, vocal sounds by Sade Champagne. Back by popular demand is our own 805’s Favorite Comedian, Denise Carter who will be the Mistress of Ceremonies for the event. Spread the word! Please share!

Project 2025 is the Heritage Foundation’s plan for a second Trump administration. We need to let everyone know what’s included in this nearly thousand-page document. For those who believe in a progressive, inclusive, tolerant, fair society, these plans are frightening.

Background: The U.S. Supreme Court issued its ruling on the Dobb’s case on June 24, 2022, taking away the constitutional right to abortion, abandoning almost 50 years of precedent, and paving the way for states to ban abortion. Women of the USA will take their stand, on June 24th, and in November.
