PA school board cancels gay anti-bullying speaker

FIGHT BACK against this blatant homophobia! Donate today to help TPAB elect Democrats who will fight for empathy and inclusivity!

A right-wing school board in Mechanicsburg, PA canceled a middle school anti-bullying assembly because the speaker was an openly gay actor and author who was set to share a message of empathy and inclusion – values that are crucial in nurturing safe and supportive environments for our youth.

His disinvitation, based on unfounded concerns over his so-called “lifestyle” and activism, sends a dangerous message to students that certain identities are not welcome in their learning spaces.

This is unacceptable! Turn PA Blue is dedicated to defeating right-wing bullies who threaten the well-being of students, no matter their identity.

Will you make a contribution to help elect Democrats who understand the importance of diversity and inclusion and who are committed to protecting all students from bullying and discrimination?

School board members in Mechanicsburg are sending the message that they don’t want our identities in the school,” one LGBTQ+ student said.

A former student in the LGBTQ+ community said, “I think that if I had heard from diverse voices in an auditorium setting telling me that it was okay to be different, maybe my middle and high school experience could have been different,” he continued. “A presentation of this sort could have saved a life, like the life of my friend.”

Anti-LGBTQ+ bigots are endangering a quality education for all students, and they are endangering the LGBTQ+ community. Donate today to help us DEFEAT them!

Thanks for your support,
