The courts cannot save us from Trump. Only our votes can save us from this wannabe authoritarian madman who is an extreme danger to national security & our democratic freedoms!

Those of us who follow politics closely are keenly aware of how much more dangerous Donald Trump has become since the country fired him in 2020. Throughout his first term in the White House, we saw that he is a vicious, cruel, and vindictive madman with the personality of a rattlesnake. His first term was a hellscape but not as appalling as the one he promises to unleash on America, and the world, if he were to gain power again. He says that if he could, he would never leave office and would be a dictator on the first day. We should believe that he would try to do exactly that.
The former MAGA President stole national security documents, committed financial fraud, paid hush money to win an election, and committed insurrection, but has not yet been held accountable. He viewed the office of president as one of self-service rather than public service. He reportedly shared classified nuclear submarine information with an Australian billionaire who only became a Mar-a-Lago member to ingratiate himself, paying generously to attend galas Trump would attend, while in private saying Trump does business “like the mafia.” Now that his court losses have put him half-a-billion dollars in debt, with banks being hesitant to do business with him,”Trump will have to find someone new to give him a huge amount of money in a very short time–and that is a major national security risk.”
If Trump were to regain power over us, his allies and he would try to take away our rights and freedoms such as:
- LGBTQ+ Rights: Republicans would try to roll back LGBTQ+ rights, including marriage equality and protections against discrimination in employment and housing, and to make gender affirming care illegal for youth and adults nationwide.
- Marriage Equality: Trump’s corrupt, hand-picked Supreme Court justices want to overturn marriage equality, and other rights and freedoms most Americans value.
- Civil Rights: Republicans would try to remove civil rights protections, particularly for marginalized communities. Trump continues to use White supremacist hate speech to attack immigrants, refugees, people of color, and religious communities.
- Environmental Protections: Trump wants to devastate environmental regulations and withdraw from international climate agreements as he did before. He wants to accelerate climate denial, leading to further environmental degradation and inaction on the climate crisis.
- Healthcare: Republicans would try to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA), to strip 52.3 million Americans of their healthcare, and allow insurance companies to refuse care to people with pre-existing conditions.
- Voting Rights: Trump would try to use “his” Supreme Court to overturn the will of the people if he does not like the outcome of an election.
- NATO: When we were attacked on 9/11, our NATO allies came to our defense and fought with us to defeat ISIS. NATO is an iron-clad commitment that has kept Western-style liberal democracies, including ours, safe from foreign adversaries for 75 years. Trump’s isolationist policies would threaten our national security and dangerously harm our democracy.
Trump is prone to snuggling up to those who praise him and pretend to admire him. This makes him a “useful idiot” for American oligarchs, dark money influencers, and for power-hungry politicians who consistently pursue their self-interest instead of what’s best for our country.
Appallingly, Trump is a useful idiot for authoritarians like Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Hungary’s Viktor Orbán, North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, China’s Xi Jinping, and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Bone-Saw who caused Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi to be dismembered during Trump’s term of office. Trump, who sees the press as “the enemy of the people,” said nothing about this barbarous murder.
Some of the court cases against Trump are moving too slowly, and some judges seem to treat Trump as if he’s not subject to the rule of law. Holding Trump accountable is now our responsibility. Our collective votes for Democrats in November can ensure that Trump never gets power over us again. Ask your followers to spread the word. Trump is an extreme and dangerous threat to our national security and to our democratic freedoms.
