Meeting Tonight!
Join us this evening, Thursday Feb 15, at 6:30pm for our February monthly meeting. We’ll gather at Charleston Democratic Headquarters (1379 Ashley River Rd. Charleston 29407) to hear from several local Democrats who are on the ballot this year running for re-election, including State Senator Deon Tedder who will give a legislative update now that we are five weeks into the 2024 session.
We’ll also recap last week’s First in the Nation Democratic primary, our outreach efforts, and go over details you need to know for our upcoming 2024 Charleston County Democratic Convention, including how you can become a local, state, and/or national Democratic Convention delegate!
Join the 2024 Swag Club!
Lets face it, elections are expensive. Even a local party spends thousands of dollars printing materials, running ads, sending mail, renting office space, and much more.
This year almost every local office in the Charleston area is on the ballot, so we’ll need extra help to run a strong Democratic ticket. That’s where you come in! We’re launching a program that will help you promote our candidates AND help us raise the money we need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2024, our 2024 Swag Club.
If you sign up for a monthly recurring contribution of $20.24 per month for the rest of the year, each month we’ll send you an item that helps promote our Democratic candidates, including Biden/Harris shirts, yard signs, stickers, and pins! We’ll also include items from your local Democratic party and 2024 candidates!
It’s a fun way to help fund our critical general election efforts and distribute Democratic gear across Charleston County! Sign up by March 1 to receive the first item we send!
Attend our Charleston County Democratic Convention!
Next month we’ll hold the 2024 Charleston County Democratic Convention. This is a critical – and the most grassroots – step in our party’s official process for organizing at the local, then state, then national level.
We will elect the members of our County Executive Committee (the governing body of our County Party), and 138 delegates to our state Democratic Convention.*
If you are interested in serving in either capacity, or otherwise volunteering with our County Party this year, please plan on attending the convention. It will be March 16 1-4pm at the Charleston County Downtown Library – 68 Calhoun St. Charleston 29401.
*Please note that we are NOT electing a County Chair or Vice Chairs this year. The current incumbents were elected to two year terms beginning in March 2023.
