Fifty-one years ago today, the Supreme Court guaranteed abortion rights in Roe v. Wade — giving women the freedom to make their own medical decisions.
Sadly, thanks to Donald Trump’s extreme Supreme Court and Missouri Republicans’ trigger law, Missouri women no longer have that freedom.
Since the initiative effort launched on Thursday, we’ve seen record volunteer and fundraising energy — and it could not have come at a better time.
We’ve all heard the harrowing stories of cruelty that women have been subjected to after Roe was overturned and Missouri’s harsh trigger law to curtail abortion rights took effect. The situation will only get worse if Republicans win control of all three branches of government in November.
If that happens, Josh Hawley will proudly help Donald Trump pass a national abortion ban, and we need to stand together to stop it.
