ACLU Talk, Cleanup Walk, & Leadership Lab

Important Updates: Monthly Meeting, First Sunday Walk & Leadership Lab Events

I hope this email finds you well and in good spirits. While Halloween is upon us, and we all enjoy the seasonal spookiness, there’s something even more frightening looming in our community—book bans. That’s why our Monthly Meeting this Thursday is a must-attend event. Our special guest, Joshua Malkin from the ACLU, will be discussing the Freedom to Read initiative and how we can fight for educational freedom in our state. We gather not just to inform but to arm ourselves with the knowledge and tools necessary to effect change.

For those of you interested in physical well-being and environmental stewardship, we have the perfect opportunity coming up this weekend. Our First Sunday Walk and Adopt a Highway program have been combined to offer you an enriching Saturday experience. Taking care of our health and our environment goes hand-in-hand with taking care of our community.

Lastly, we’re excited to kick off our November Leadership Lab sessions this Sunday. Join us for an enlightening discussion about the function of the DNC while enjoying the company of like-minded individuals. Hot drinks will be provided, and you’re more than welcome to bring a snack to share.

I look forward to seeing many of you at these upcoming events. Together, let’s empower ourselves and our community for a brighter, more equitable future.

Happy Halloween,
