Agenda: Civic Engagement and November 2023 Elections for the City of Conyers, GA.
The meeting will be held at the RCDC Headquarters 977 S. Main Street, Suite 8-H, Conyers, GA 30012. Meetings are open to the public and we invite you to join us.

Opposition To House Bill 741
2023 Proposed Local Legislation
The Rockdale County Democratic Committee (RCDC) opposes House Bill 741 as it is currently written.
We request a NO VOTE on HB 741.
Here are the four primary areas of concern with the HB 741 as currently written:
- Candidates for County Commissioner should:
- Qualify;
- Run for Office;
- Be elected; and
- Serve Countywide. WE DO NOT SUPPORT DISTRICTS!
- A County Manager form of government as outlined in this bill gives too much authority to the county manager’s role without the Board of Commissioners’ oversight.
- The creation of the Ethics Board as written in this bill will cause the County to incur excessive expenses and raise taxes to pay for the cost.
- The Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners should be elected FULL TIME by the residents of Rockdale County and not by the Board of Commissioners.
Email the Rockdale Delegation to express your NO VOTE to HB 741 and urge our elected officials not to move this bill forward!
