This is the last week to save abortion rights and protect the integrity of our elections in Michigan
We need more people to sign the Reproductive Freedom for All and Promote the Vote 2022 ballot initiatives by June 28 or they very well might not be on the November ballot
Whether we are young or old, black, brown or white, urban or rural, all of us believe that our freedom is essential to who we are. Our freedom to vote and to have that vote counted. Our freedom to decide about our bodies, our health and our families. Freedom is essential.
But MAGA Republicans are trying to protect their power and wealth, taking away our freedom to vote and our freedom to choose.
Be a protector– sign the petitions, help others sign. We need a big bump by June 30th… or we won’t have the freedom to vote or to choose.

– Promote the Vote – our freedom to safely vote
Join us at one of these events to sign! If you’ve already signed, you can multiply your signature by sending someone else to sign– or come pick up a sheet and take it to 1 or 2 (or 10) friends.

Primary elections are coming soon. Apply to vote absentee.
The primary election is August 2nd so request an absentee ballot today. If you have a Michigan Driver’s License or State ID you can submit an online application at Michigan.Gov/Vote. Learn about the process from the Ann Arbor City Clerk here, (Now being updated for the primary election): https://www.a2gov.org/departments/city-clerk/Elections/Pages/Elections.aspx
Residents can apply in person at the City Clerk’s office on the second floor of City Hall, 301 E. Huron St.

From the article:
- Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson will NOT send out absentee ballot applications to every registered Michigan voter this year. That was done in 2020 when more than 7 million applications went out statewide.
- The first voters to get their Aug. 2 primary election ballots will be Michiganders living overseas or in the military. By federal law, local clerks must have those ballots sent out by Saturday, June 18, 45 days before the election.
- The first absentee ballots will go out Thursday, June 23. Any voter, with no excuse required, can request an absentee ballot online or submit a paper application, letter or postcard to their local clerk. Requests “may be returned by hand, via postal mail, fax or email, as long as a signature is visible,” the Secretary of State’s office says.

What are the remaining election dates in 2022?
- August 2 – State Primary as well as proposals that are not yet “official” – including the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority proposal
- November 8 – State General Election
What are the deadlines for submission of ballot proposals?
- By 5 pm, July 11: Petitions to place a proposed constitutional amendment on the November general election ballot filed with the Secretary of State (425,059 valid signatures required). (168.471)
