Volunteers needed in Hawaii to help Observe Counting of Ballots

ACTIONS FOR WEEK OF APRIL 25

Request from Sandy Ma, Executive Director, Common Cause Hawaii

Volunteer Observers at Office of Elections,
Counting Center Operations

The State Office of Elections is looking for volunteer observers to support its Counting Center Operations in all counties for the 2022 Elections for the primary and general elections. If you are interested in knowing how ballots are opened and counted, this is a great opportunity to learn! Office of Elections is only asking for as much volunteer time as you can give. The deadline line to sign up to volunteer is May 6.

Here are the links for Official Observers for each County:
Official Observers (Hawaii) (counting site in Hilo)
Official Observers (Maui)
Official Observers (Kauai)
Official Observers (Oahu)

Office of Elections also has a link on its website that anyone can use to sign up: Voting > Volunteer > https://forms.office.com/g/r5twq5SssM

Please spread the word among your networks. Elections officials have been under fire recently across the continent and also locally. Common Cause Hawaii wants to be sure that we provide volunteers who understand the importance of democracy and voting. Students are encouraged to volunteer so long as they will be 16 by June 30th. Thank you!
