St. Patrick wasn’t Irish and he didn’t drive the snakes out of Ireland, and sheriffs and district attorneys aren’t magical creatures at the end of the rainbow with a pot of gold. OK, we made that last one up. But if you’re just a wee bit unclear about what sheriffs and DAs do and how they get their jobs, you’re not alone. Fortunately, it’s your lucky day — read on for info about the June 7, 2022 elections in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties for these important but often overlooked positions.

We Could Not Make This Up

It was a Major gaffe when Lauren Boebert heckled President Biden at the SOTU. Natch, she’s never one to keep things Private — she went on Twitter to read a supposed letter of support from the mother of a “Lieutenant Corporal” killed in action. We hate to be Petty, but “there’s not a colonel of truth to that title” in the U.S. Armed Forces — maybe in the Gazpacho Police? (The service member was a Marine Corps Lance Corporal — we assume his mom got it right.) General thanks to Dictionary.com for trying to educate Members of Congress about the Armed Forces — now maybe they can give Lauren a lesson about “Prince John from uhh Prince John”? It’s a sure thing she’s no Robin Hood.
