Virtual townhall with Rep Case this Tuesday

The budget reconciliation bill, the heart of President Biden’s and the Democrats’ agenda, includes the American Jobs and Family Plan which provides important help for American families, which we support. We want to know where Ed stands on the specifics, including their relation to Hawaii.

Here are questions we want to discuss at the town hall:

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SIGNING UP FOR TOWN HALL
The above flyer states that you can join the townhall online at https://case.house.gov/live/. I signed up at that site which stated “Please note that you must sign up a minimum of 1 hour before the event’s start time to be included”.

I’m not confident that I am signed up for this particular event as I got an email stating “Thank you for subscribing. You are now signed up. You will be contacted for all Congressman Ed Case events.” Not sure if that really means he’ll be calling me on Tuesday at 6:30.

We will contact Ed’s office Tuesday morning to confirm that this is the way to sign up. If we hear anything different we will send an updated email.

In the meantime, go to this link https://case.house.gov/live/ , scroll down, enter your name, phone number, and email, check ‘I’m not a robot’ and hit the ‘Sign Up’ button. His flyer says that his office will call you just prior to the meeting.

If you don’t get a call from Ed’s office just prior to the meeting, call his office at 855-274-9528.

Help Save Haiku Stairs! Attend Rally Tomorrow and Submit Testimony

May be an image of sky and text that says 'Save Haiku Stairs! Oppose Resolution 21-154 Wednesday, September 8, 2021 Honolulu City Council Meeting 10am Final Vote on Haiku Stairs Honolulu City Council is proposing to remove Haiku Stairs. Submit your testimony now to oppose Resolution 21-154! Click Opposed in less than a minute. Submit oral or written testimony. All are needed to save Haiku Stairs. Protect your public access rights and recreational resources! Tearing down our hiking trails is not what we voted for. A managed access plan is possible and a reasonable alternative to save this significant historic feature.'

Please submit Testimony here, it only takes a minute: https://www.honolulu.gov/ccl-testimony-form.html
 Information needed for testimony:

Vote OPPOSED You can write a few words in the testimony box, but you don’t have to. Sadly, we have discovered they don’t read it and many Council Members are uninformed on this issue. We are reaching out to meet with them. Our votes do matter, though. If this passes and goes on to the Mayor, he will decide whether or not to waste $1 million dollars of taxpayer money to tear down an elite, historical feature like Haiku Stairs, or actually implement the management plan that protects the neighbors, provides high tech 24 hour security, monitors hikers, restricts entry with a reservation system like Hanauma Bay for example, and actually manages the trail and access. Thank you!!!
