Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility, a time to honor and celebrate transgender and nonbinary people, amplify their voices, and commit to becoming better allies. Transgender people are under attack around the world, including in the U.S. and Maine, where state legislators are introducing bills that target transgender youth and adults. Sign this petition from EqualityMaine, against LD 926, an anti-trans sports bill that targets trans youth in a measure that violates the state’s non-discrimination laws and would subject girls to invasive medical procedures to prove their gender.
