For weeks now, Sen. Mike Shirkey has been blocking appointments by the Whitmer Administration that require Senate confirmation. Senate Republicans cite the Whitmer Administration’s public health measures, aimed at keeping Michiganders safe, as the reason for their obstruction.
This comes just a few weeks after Shirkey flew to Washington to meet with President Trump as part of a half-hearted move to overturn Michigan’s election results.
Mike Shirkey is an extremist. Full stop. But, apparently he isn’t extreme enough for the Hillsdale County GOP — who censured him earlier this week.
Winning back the State Senate and booting extremists like Shirkey from Senate control is one of our top priorities for 2022. Will you chip in now to ensure we have the resources needed to flip the Senate in 2022?
