Dear Friends,
2020 has been a year of unprecedented challenges.
Our country is weathering the darkest days of the pandemic, while witnessing an assault on our democracy by sycophantic Republicans who have demonstrated a reckless indifference to human life in their quest to retain power at any cost.
But brighter days are ahead, and 2021 fills us with hope. We are just weeks away from having a REAL President and Vice President in the White House, COVID vaccines are being distributed as we speak, and despite the constant threats, our democracy has held strong. As the year comes to a close, we at TPAB gather our hope and inspiration from each of you. Your efforts, energy, creativity, and persistence are proof of our collective power to effectuate change. You have organized, marched, rallied, lobbied, and demanded accountability from our elected officials.
You have worked tirelessly on elections by knocking doors in the snow, heat, and rain; learning tricky technology to make millions of phone calls; engaging in the crucial, but often challenging conversations that move the needle; offering your porches as massive postcard and letter distribution centers, and donating millions of dollars for down-ballot candidates across Pennsylvania. We are enormously grateful for your partnership in this work.

Let’s toast to both the challenges and the moments of connection and inspiration from our work together and look ahead to a brighter 2021 and beyond. Special guests include State Representative Leanne Krueger and Pennsylvania Voter Protection Director Kay Yu. Join us on Wednesdays this winter for weekly sessions on a range of topics, including local races, our courts, policy updates, data/mapping, trainings, and more. - Wednesday, January 13, 7-8 PM: No Off-Years: The Importance of Local Races. Guest speakers include Lara Putnam, Professor of History, University of Pittsburgh, and State Representative Jennifer O’Mara.
- Wednesday, January 27, 7-8 PM: Judicial Gerrymandering: What Is it? Why Does it Matter? How Can You Stop It? Guest speakers include State Representative Mike Zabel and Deborah Gross, President and CEO of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts.
- Wednesday, February 3, 12-1 PM: Mapping the Political Geography of PA. We will be joined by Lara Putnam, Professor of History, University of Pittsburgh, and additional panelists will be announced.
