Spearheaded by Warren Clark

From illegal voter purges to hundreds of poll closures to four-hour lines, Georgia voters have faced a sophisticated, but hauntingly familiar attack on their right to vote. Hundreds of thousands of voters were affected by poor election management and systematic voter suppression, crippling Georgia’s democracy.

David Johnson gave us important information in his Legislative Webinar

“People modify their behavior if they know they’re being watched.” We must let our State legislators know they are being watched!

Rep. Cyndi Stevenson (Dist. 17) is not holding virtual meetings at present as she is preparing for the Legislative Delegation Meeting to be held on December 18 (see more info below). Her secretary did not know if she would hold any virtual meetings prior to the beginning of the 2021 Legislative session. Consequently, this may well be your only opportunity to influence your legislators prior to the beginning of their committee meetings.

 Legislative Delegation Meeting date announced

These are our state legislators:  Travis Hutson, Senator; Paul Renner, Rep. Dist. 24,Cyndi Stevenson, Rep. Dist. 17.  These are the people we need to attempt to influence to see any laws change in the State of Florida, and this is how we do the “Act Locally” part of “Think Globally, Act Locally”

This St. Johns County Legislative Delegation will hold a meeting on Friday, December 18, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the St Johns County Commission Chamber Auditorium, located at 500 San Sebastian View, St Augustine.

Discussion of issues regarding local legislation for the 2021 Legislative Session will be held at this time.  If you have something you want to promote to your most local representative, this is your chance.  (Your editor spoke last year promoting laws which are in accord with home rule.)

The proceedings will be available on GTV to watch live.  St Johns County Delegation meetings are open to the public.

Either as an individual or as representative of a group, I encourage you to attend, if nothing else for the educative value, and to let your reps know someone is paying attention.
