Message from Maria Lynam, Steering Committee, Prescott Indivisible and
Chair of the Democratic Women of the Prescott Area
October 8, 2020
Dear LD1 Progessive Voter:
I have had the pleasure of listening to three presentations sponsored by the Arizona Democratic Party featuring Max Wood, founder of DECK, a company that focuses on polling down ballot races. His most recent presentation was yesterday (Wed. 10/7).
Why have I become a ‘regular’ at these presentations? Max does not walk you through a rose garden—his polling numbers and analysis have always made a great deal of sense to me and they are presented in a straightforward manner.
When asked about which AZ House seats were flippable, he named three:
LD1 Stahl; LD6 Evans and LD8 Girard.
The current LD1 stats: Stahl 45%, Burgess 37%, Nuygen 32%
When donations were discussed, Max suggested we “keep 95% of our money in AZ”. AZ is not only tippable, but our history of reliable early voting is extremely important. If we give Biden a win with our electoral votes, it will tamp down some of the disarray that will take place in the mid-western states when their votes are still being counted.
When asked which AZ House races we should adopt (because we know how important money is to a candidate in the run up to the end), he put LD1 Stahl at the top of the list. We need to take the AZ House and Senate. We need Judy Stahl to represent us!
I implore you to take three actions:
- Donate whatever you can to Judy’s campaign. No matter how small an amount, please donate—it adds up.
2. Write to Charles Fisher, Executive Director of the ADLCC—CFisher@AZDem.org
The AZ Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee provides monetary assistance to state candidates. They have given no money to Judy’s campaign. Please write him an email and let him know how important it is that they support the Stahl campaign with a large donation that will give her the opportunity to become the LD1 Representative in the AZ House.
3. ONLY VOTE FOR JUDY STAHL for STATE REPRESENTATIVE, DISTRICT 1. When you fill out your ballot it should look like this:
Max also said that Mark Kelly has an 80% chance of winning, but we cannot let our guard down. We have to keep pushing–calling and, texting for Mission Arizona.
Be aware that people can register to vote on or before Oct. 23. They can do it in person at the Yavapai Co. Administration Bldg. 1015 Fair St. or send them to servicearizona.
