MAINERS CALL ON SENATOR COLLINS TO TAKE ACTION ON ISSUES OF VITAL IMPORTANCE TO THE STATE

AINERS CALL ON SENATOR COLLINS TO TAKE ACTION ON ISSUES OF VITAL IMPORTANCE TO THE STATE
While Mainers are Struggling with the Consequences of Inaction in Washington, Susan Collins Refuses to Take a Stand on Issues of Vital Importance to Maine Families and the State’s Economy
Portland, MAINE — Mainers continue to struggle with effects of the pandemic crisis that have been exacerbated by inaction from the White House and Republicans in the Senate. This leaves many Mainers asking what Maine Senator Susan Collins is actually doing to provide relief for laid-off workers and Maine families in need, ensure an accurate US Census count in Maine, and protect institutions like the US Postal Service (USPS) that provides a vital service for rural Mainers.

“The bottom line is that Susan Collins’ inaction in Washington is hurting Mainers, and our state’s economy. We should be able to rely on Senator Collins to address issues that affect Mainers and represent our interests, but instead she’s standing by and letting President Trump and Mitch McConnell use issues like access to the post office, the US Census, and relief that Maine families are relying on to make ends meet, as pawns in their political games,” said Willy Ritch, executive director of 16 Counties Coalition. “Mainers need a senator who will actually stand up for us, not just use us to score political points.”
