What office are you running for?

State Senate – District 14

With which party are you running for office?

Democratic Party

Election Date

11/3/20

Why are you running for office?

The biggest reason is because of my kids – Elliott and Margot. Things should be better for them than they are for me, just like they were better for me than for my parents and grandparents.

What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?

A once-in-a generation fight against a virus has shown that we need a better plan forward for Tennesseans. This requires a new focus on an economy and community that works for everyone. As we start to rebuild and reopen after the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ll need a government focused on helping our rural communities thrive. First, I’ll work to expand Medicaid and bring our $3.8 million per day in federal funding home to Tennesseans. We’ll use this money to help rural hospitals stay open, fight the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensure every Tennessean has healthcare. Second, I’ll make high-speed Internet in rural communities a priority. We’ll use federal and state funding to ensure that you have fast, reliable, and affordable Internet access no matter where you live in Tennessee. This access brings with it good paying new jobs, opportunities for people to start a small business from their home, and educational resources for our teachers and students. Third, I’ll invest more funding and resources in our public schools. That means more money for teacher salaries, classroom supplies, and programs that help set our students up for success. Better jobs, better educational opportunities, better access to healthcare. If we can get those right, our rural communities can thrive in the coming decades.

What is the most recent book you read?

“The Soul of America” from Jon Meacham

Do you have any kids/pets/talking houseplants?

Yep! Two kids – Margot and Elliott.

How can our readers get involved in your campaign?

The easiest option is ChaseForTN.com – that’s our website, our HQ. You can also find me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram all under the same @ChaseForTN name.
