Why are you running for office?
I thought the fight of my life would be over the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, but it was with my newborn in the Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital. Henry is healthy now, but I met so many families who were trying to get the care they needed without going bankrupt. That’s why I’m running for Congress. For far too long, Washington politicians have served the special interests instead of our country and the people they represent.
I’m the daughter of immigrants who worked hard to achieve the American Dream. My dad emigrated from the Philippines as a teenager and worked as an auto mechanic. My mom came to the United States as a young child, started as a secretary, and eventually finished college at the age of 52.
After September 11th, I signed up for pilot training, where I met my husband, Rob. We deployed together three times, and I deployed twice more. After leaving active duty we settled in Mason, Ohio, where I was accepted into GE Aviation’s Junior Officer Leadership Program. I’m ready to continue my service to country as the next Representative of Ohio’s First District.
