Candidate Name:
Jim Kennedy

Candidate’s Preferred Pronouns
He, Him
What office are you running for?
US House of Representatives, District 8
With which party are you running for office?
Democratic Party
Election Date
11/03/2020
Why are you running for office?
I believe that the people of my district deserve better than a bought and sold vote. They deserve someone who will listen to all sides of an issue, and make the right decision based on facts and data, and not who contributes the most.
What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?
As a coastal Florida Community (the Space Coast), we are extremely endangered by climate change and man-made disasters. Our waters are so polluted with industrial farm run off and the global threat of rising sea levels, we are approaching a make or break point in our lives. If the government does not force corporations to turn things around, it will be too late. And with the loss of our community, also goes America’s Gate to Space (Kennedy Space Center)
How do we fix the partisan divide in our country and start working together again?
By listening to facts and each other. We can no longer live with a Sound Bite Congress that is just trying to get reelected. We need passionate people who are will to fight to do what is right for all of us, on both sides!
Who is your hero?
I don’t know that I have one. There are many men and women whom I look up too, my parents being the first to come to mind. But ‘Hero’ is such a subjective word and in today’s media is totally over used.
What are your hobbies?
Swimming, reading, playing with my kids (the game and rules are not important), just learning in general. If I could spend the rest of my days always learning something new and having family and friends to discuss it with (even if they roll their eyes) I would be the happiest man alive.
What is the most recent book you read?
For All Americans; by Bart Stupack
Do you have any kids/pets/talking houseplants?
Twin 5 year olds, a dog and a cat, plus my niece’s 3 cats also live with us.
How can our readers get involved in your campaign?
Get involved in your local politics, research issues and not sound bites, fight ignorance and not each other. By helping to spread our issues and ideas we can get the word out that there are still some people out here that want to do what is right, not just get rich. We can always use donations to ensure our victory.
What question do you wish we’d asked, and what is your answer?
Do you believe that when you are elected you can make a difference?
I would not be running if I believed otherwise.
