Candidate Name:
Heidi Campbell

What office are you running for?
Tennessee State Senate District 20
With which party are you running for office?
Democratic Party
Election Date
August 6, 2020
Why are you running for office?
To solve problems
What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?
We have a radical legislature that spends time and dollars on issues that divide us. As a mayor in this district I have worked with Republicans and Democrats in our state to pass meaningful legislation to help citizens of our district. I know how to get results in a polarized environment. I’m running to bring leadership, consensus, and integrity to the office.
How do we fix the partisan divide in our country and start working together again?
We have to change the conversation. Fringe Radicals have hijacked our Legislature and instead of addressing issues that improve the lives of Tennesseans, they’re introducing legislation that inflames our divisions. We must work to find common ground on challenges such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, environmental sustainability, fiscal responsibility, and the opioid crisis. The truth is that the majority of us agree on a lot of issues, and we need to begin the process by working together on issues that unite us.

Behave: The Biology of Humans at our Best and our Worst, by Robert Sapolsky
