What office are you running for?

United States House of Representatives KY CD4

With which party are you running for office?

Democratic Party

Election Date

Primary May 19, 2020. General November 3, 2020.

Why are you running for office?

To represent real, everyday, hard-working people of the working and middle classes

What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?

Healthcare is one of the biggest issues facing America right now. As a nurse and a healthcare provider, I will help build a healthcare system ensuring all Americans have access to quality healthcare they can afford. Only by getting nurses and doctors into Congress and the Senate can we come up with a healthcare system that truly works for all Americans.

How do we fix the partisan divide in our country and start working together again?

We fix the partisan divide by electing representatives who are willing to focus on our similarities instead of our differences. Too often our representatives try to gain political advantage and power by pitting us against each other, preventing us from unifying and realizing their self-serving policies are the real problem. The vast majority of us agree on 90% of the issues, but our current “representatives” focus on the 10% we don’t agree on rather than the 90% we do.

Who is your hero?

My children are my heroes. Their resilience and support for me is unbelievable and remains the inspiration for what I do everyday. While each generation has their challenges, my generation is tapped with the challenge of raising children with large amounts of student loan debt, working overtime or multiple jobs trying to make ends meet. Our children are this amazing, resilient force pushing us forward and pushing to make their world a better place.

What are your hobbies?

Saving lives and coming up with new and innovative ways to either pay off or defer my student loans. And, anything my kids are into currently.

What is the most recent book you read?

“Don’t Think of an Elephant” by George Lakoff

Do you have any kids/pets/talking houseplants?

I am a full time single mom of two amazing children. We also love animals and gardening, so our house is full of life and there is never a dull moment!

How can our readers get involved in your campaign?

My campaign is definitely grassroots. Any type of volunteer efforts are greatly appreciated. Helping me find events in my district where I can meet a large amount of voters is an amazing help on its own!
