What office are you running for?

GA State Senate D9

With which party are you running for office?

Democratic Party

Election Date

Primary May 19th

Why are you running for office?

We need legislators who care about all Georgia families. I am running to ensure we live in a state that reflects our inclusive and diverse communities and protects the rights of our most vulnerable citizens.

What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?

Gerrymandering. Voters should choose legislators not the other way around. We need an independent commission in Georgia to draw non partisan, transparent, fair voting district lines. I will fight for redistricting reform policies, encouraging other legislators and community activist to join me in the process.

How do we fix the partisan divide in our country and start working together again?

We end partisan gerrymandering to build an incentive to compromise. We then find common issues relevant to both sides, like education, job growth, infrastructure, and healthcare, holding our elected accountable for actionable plans to solve these issues.

Who is your hero?

My Grandmother

What are your hobbies?

Dancing, gardening, and watching Sci-fi movies

What is the most recent book you read?

Why Nations Fail

Do you have any kids/pets/talking houseplants?

2 kids, 2 dogs, and a room of houseplants (non-talking)

How can our readers get involved in your campaign?

What question do you wish we’d asked?

How do we fix racial injustice and inequities in this country. Where does the healing start.
