What office are you running for?
Sarasota County Commission District 3

With which party are you running for office?
Democratic Party

Election Date
November 3, 2020

Why are you running for office?
I have a strong environmental platform that I will work to push forward. I believe that we have many precious natural resources in Sarasota County, and we must protect them! We have to ensure that our infrastructure, especially sewage and water infrastructure, must be repaired and replaced to keep waste from leaking into our water supply. We must create an environmental protection plan, and plan to enact it by 2025. This plan will include clean water and air standards, as well as the use of renewable energy.

We must reform our campaign finance system to end PAC money in local elections, and stop career politicians from buying elections.

We must work to increase the amount of affordable housing, and bring in higher paying jobs.

I’ve been a Sarasota County resident my entire life, and I love our region. We must do our best to protect it.

What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?
Our environment is of utmost importance. Currently, our aging infrastructure is falling apart, and we must ensure that we take necessary action to replace aging sewer and water facilities to ensure waste does not leak into our water. We must protect the resources we have.

How do we fix the partisan divide in our country and start working together again?
We have to be willing to work together and cooperate with others. I’m proud to have supporters from all parties, and even independent supporters as well. I have made a commitment to work together with people, and that’s what I’ll do.

Who is your hero?
My mother

What is the most recent book you read?
The Institute– Stephen King

Do you have any kids/pets/talking houseplants?
I have a dog, “Buttons.” I also love houseplants.

How can our readers get involved in your campaign?
Please email me, visit my website or Facebook, or call me anytime! I’m always interested to hear from people and talk about anything.
