What office are you running for?
US Congress in the California 22nd District

With which party are you running for office?
Democratic Party

Election Date
March 3rd, 2020 / Nov 3rd, 2020

Why are you running for office?
I’m running for office because for far too long, we’ve seen the Central Valley be overlooked. We’re seeing systemic issues of severe poverty, lack of access to basic healthcare or even clean drinking water. Our current representative hasn’t been an advocate for the issues that need to be solved. I want to be an advocate and voice for the people of the valley and help solve the critical issues of our time.

What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?
Lack of access to healthcare is plaguing our district. People are having to make a choice between paying for their life-saving medication or keeping a roof over their heads. With little access to basic healthcare, people are unable to treat preventative conditions that then lead to emergencies in our impacted hospitals. This is unacceptable. If elected, not only will I work to bring more medical facilities to the district but I will work every day so people living in this district, especially those most vulnerable, don’t ever have to make that choice.

How do we fix the partisan divide in our country and start working together again?
In order to fix the divide that has kept our Government stalling on important and live-saving pieces of legislation, we have to look at the main actors who are causing this obstruction and vote them out of office. It appears that some members are more concerned with maintaining power than creating legislative change. We need more rational actors who are concerned about the lives of people in order to effectively build policy. We need to talk to each other again. We need to listen to each other again.

Who is your hero?
James Baldwin

What are your hobbies?
Playing with my dog Rex, reading, playing violin

What is the most recent book you read?
The Autobiography of Malcolm X

Do you have any kids/pets/talking houseplants?
I have a dog named Rex
