If you’re feeling a little weary this morning, there’s good reason. You and members of dozens of sister grassroots groups and advocacy organizations around the state worked tirelessly in 2019 to advance legislation and policy that will improve the lives of people in Maine and to hold our elected officials accountable. This video is for you and for our fellow persisters in groups from Kittery to Caribou.
If we learned one thing in 2019, it’s that elections matter. In 2018, Maine voters wanted change in Augusta and in D.C. We worked hard, and we got that change. The results? Progressive legislation that will move Maine and the country in a positive direction. And, finally, a U.S. House of Representatives that is holding a corrupt president and administration accountable for their illegal and unethical actions.
Working together is how we succeeded in 2018, and it’s the recipe for our success this year. It will take every skill we’ve honed over the past 3 years and every year leading up to it to accomplish this feat, but if we come together, we can do our part to take back the U.S. Senate and White House. As the song says, we are the change. Welcome to 2020. Let’s get to work.
