What’s the difference between Poll Worker & Poll Watcher?

Poll Worker:
Nonpartisan, Paid (Clerks, Judges, Inspectors, Checker, Precinct Worker)

Poll Watcher:
Partisan, Volunteer (Observers, Monitors, Challengers)

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To be a poll worker (Election Commissioner) You must be 18+, registered to vote in Nevada, be a resident of the county, complete required training. To sign up, contact your local board of elections. Election Day poll workers receive $150 for the day. Early voting poll workers are paid by the hour. 

HOW POLL WORKERS ARE CHOSEN:

At least 3 election board members, 1 of them designated chairman, are appointed by the county clerk at least 31 days before the election. May not all be of the same political party.

POLL WATCHER INFO:

The county clerk shall allow members of the general public to observe the conduct of voting at a polling place. A member of the general public does not include any person who: gathers information for communication to the public; is employed or engaged by or has contracted with a newspaper, periodical, press association, or radio or television station; and is acting solely within his or her professional capacity. 

Who is Authorized to Challenge a Voter’s Eligibility on Election Day?

A person applying to vote may be challenged orally by any registered voter of the precinct upon the ground that he or she is not the person entitled to vote as claimed or has voted before at the same election.
