Candidate Name: Yvonne Reeves-Chong
What office are you running for?
Missouri State Representative District 122
With which party are you running for office?
November 3, 2020
Why are you running for office?
Someone has to stand up and fight for people who do not have the means to fight for themselves. The current system enables rich people to go to Jeff City and write laws that favor other rich people. No one is fighting for us.
What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?
Income in the area is stratified. Those that work on Ft Wood or have federal pensions are doing very well. Those that work off post tend to work for minimum wage and less than forty hours per week.
How do we fix the partisan divide in our country and start working together again?
We have to recognize that there are those who profit from the division. We have to point out the people who are creating the divide and how they benefit from the problem more than the solution. We have to talk to one another.
Who is your hero?
What are your hobbies?
What’s a hobby? I got politically involved in 2000; I don’t remember what I did with my time before then. JK I am an avid solo traveler. A few years ago, I went to Korea and spent ten days roaming around enjoying the differences.
What is the most recent book you read?
All Politics Is Local: Why Progressives Must Fight for the States by Meaghan Winter
Do you have any kids/pets/talking houseplants?
One adult son. I raised him without major mishaps; why push my luck with pets and plants?

What question do you wish we’d asked, and what is your answer?
Can one person make a difference?
Only one person can make a difference. One at a time, we must all stand up together. The decision to make a difference doesn’t happen in groups. It’s millions of one persons deciding to change.
