Candidate Name: Jesse Malone

What office are you running for?
14th district of Iowa Senate

With which party are you running for office?
Democratic Party

Election Date
November 3rd 2020

Why are you running for office?
To see to it personally, both my little baby girls, if they so choose, to have a fair shot at a future of a dignified middle class life in their multi-generational home of a small town in southern Iowa that is not riddled with greed and corruption of dark money groups that is eradicating our rural communities that their ancestors have flourished in since the 1800s. I’m running for office because my love for my friends, my family, wrapped in the protection my working class grit in my heart, the calluses of my skin, and the density of calcium in my hardened knuckles are much stronger then the lust and wickedness of the power hungry.

What is the biggest issue facing your community and how do you propose helping?
Our small towns are dying. The dark money groups like ALEC are tighting their grip and their focus on my home. I’m going to save my home of all rural Iowa by showing the ALEC and the last KOCH that our grip of the working class is strongest. And by working in solidarity not only can we bring back our rural communities to life but the strength of the working class will be reminded that we can break free of the false leaders with a KOCH addiction. I will do whatever I must to remind my people how powerful they really are and give them back the power that has been robbed from them over the decades.

How do we fix the partisan divide in our country and start working together again?
Just by reminding each other that we are in the same boat. By not quoting our beliefs but exchange our personal stories of hardship and struggle that so many of us have been convinced by the status quo we needed to hide and be ashamed of our losing battles of daily life. Which will shed light just how bad it has gotten for all of us that work for a living. So we may unite and say “I dont care if you are Democrats or Republicans, these issues need fixed and fixed today!!! Not tomorrow, not next week, not next election..NOW!!

Who is your hero?
My daughters Elly and Roxy. And my Wife Rachel. They bring out the best in me and they give me the strength and the resolve I never knew I possessed. And of course my mother.

What are your hobbies?
Combat competition sports (kickboxing, mma, Brazilian jujitsu) retired from competition but still love to train myself and new students. Being involved in the Labor movement and learning about the history that has just been almost suspiciously buried and is very hard to uncover. And of course just spending time with my girls.

What is the most recent book you read?”
A history of America in Ten Strikes

Do you have any kids/pets/talking houseplants?
Just had my 2nd daughter Eleanor (Elly) just a month ago she was born 7 weeks early..but very healthy she was only in the NICU for a week and half! My oldest daughter Roxanna (Roxy) she is 20 months old and she was born on my birthday February 2nd..so it’s her birthday now lol. That’s okay I am the middle child so my birthday was already just ehhh! Lol! I have my lovely wife Rachel. We have our cat Kitty. And my 4 Guinea Pigs Hershey, Marshmallow, pepe le pew, and Guinea pig…yes one is named guinea pig!

How can our readers get involved in your campaign?
Any way they can. I need all the help I can get to win this race. We are going head to head with a ALEC member with access to very deep deep pockets of their dark money. I could use small donations, help with volunteering in almost any aspect, and spreading the word of the work we are trying to do to get our campaign as much exposure as possible to be spotted by more voters and other organizations that could help in our endeavors.

What question do you wish we’d asked, and what is your answer?
What do you feel sets you apart from other candidates or different from typical politicians?
Answer- I’m not one of those kids that had a maintained a 4.0 GPA in school. In matter of fact I dropped out of high school and got my high school equivalency directly after. I started working from the age of 14 because we just didnt have the money for me to have any extras beyond food, shelter, and power. Without the loud noise of wealth, social status, or obsession of fitting in an academic setting I developed the deep seeded gift that I know is the corner stone of my personality and gives me the unique ability to be 100% me all at all times, always brutally honestly, always spot lighting my own secrets from any chance of staying hidden from the public eye, always with my heart on my sleeve exposed to the world. It gives me the power of raw unfiltered empathy for my brothers and sisters of the working class. To be able look deep in their eyes and feel the true suffrage of the hardships of their life. It enables me to sear those few moments in my memory like a scar that radiates endlessly to remind me what is truly right and what is wrong. Despite petty issues made up by politicians with hidden agendas and empty promises given way to appeal their campaign contributors, these moments of empathy for the very good people that have suffered the worst of hardships looking to me as the last attempt of hope in their last shred of reaching for a better tomorrow…I will not let them down until justice and fairness has been realized for my fellow Iowans and their families of the working class.
